Me neither.
But I suppose every once in a while, I am nudged out of my contemplative cat-watching induced zen state. The other day I was watching Comedy Central in the morning (Bored, so shut up), and saw an ad for G4. I thought that G4 had gone the way of the dodo bird, but apparently not. Then Chris decided he was excited about the Beatles' iteration of Rockband and proceeded to play footage of the teaser video from some conference ("E3 still exists? Really?") twice. After that, a few people on my friends' list over at livejournal (aka, the browsing habit that doesn't die) started posting short gaming related posts too.
So I was roused out of my gaming vacuum complacency, sort of. I suppose this is one of the few times in my life that I would have time to care. So here's my thoughts in short order:
Beatles' Rockband - It's not that I do not care, but practically the only instrument I can use is my own voice, being too uncoordinated at the hand-eye coordination level (took me years to learn to dodge balls effectively). I suspect I will join in the fun when Chris inevitably purchases it, but I'll grow bored pretty quickly. The Last Guardian - I am stoked about it, I really am. But I'm not sure it's enough of an incentive to buy a PS3 in and of itself. I'm hoping I will feel differently by the time this comes out, but I definitely don't feel any pressure to buy one now. Honestly, I feel about the PS3 the same way I felt about the NES back in the day: "No thank you, I'm good." I understand I missed out on a lot of stuff being the only kid without a Nintendo in the 80s, but hey, I'm sort of catching up on it 20 years later. I'll get around to LG eventually too, and hopefully by that point I'll be ready to retire and need to have a hobbyFinal Fantasy XIV - Yeah, not buying a PS3, and not sure I want a PC either (yes, my husband works for Microsoft, but the first thing I mentioned when it became official? "I'm still only using Macs"). Besides, I think I am allergic to MMOsLeft for Dead 2 - Please make offline play more exciting. Not everyone likes to play online (see: MMO allergy). OTOH: Whohooo incendiary ammo!Crystal Bearers - I might actually buy this... It looks a lot more promising than the other Crystal Chronicle stuff that came out since the original (and like the game that Square first promised to deliver for the Wii).Wii Fit Plus - Great. I can finally dust off the balance board...
Yes, there's an assortment of Metroid, Bioshock sequel, and the two new Mario games, and all that, but let's face it, I'll probably end up being fairly content to watch Chris play them (if he still has time to play videogames). So there you go, here is half my yearly quota of videogame posts.
